CROSSPLEX VILLAGE / Real Estate Development

Background:

Utilizing New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) along with several other financing mechanisms, this development in west Birmingham, an area traditionally underserved, was able to overcome many obstacles. The mixed-use development adjacent to the CrossPlex Arena ($50m anchor) is now home to Alabama’s first Starbucks Community Store, a Comfort Inn and Suites and five additional restaurants.

Our Role:

We were called in to put a bow on all the hard work the developers did to get this project to completion. By leveraging our knowledge of PlaceMaking, we developed a marketing strategy and worked hand-in-hand to carry out an “over the top” grand opening:
